White single crystal. Spicy. Strongly alkaline. Can absorb carbon dioxide and water in the air. Soluble in water. Solubility on 20 degrees Celsius: 12.8g/100gH2O. Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. 1mol/L solution of pH is about 14. Relative density 1.51. Melting point 471 C (anhydrous). Boiling point 925 C (decomposition). Corrosive property.

Used in the production of lithium and lithium grease, alkaline electrolyte battery, lithium bromide refrigerator absorbing liquid. Mainly used as raw material for preparing lithium compounds. Can also be used in metallurgy, petroleum, glass, ceramics and other industries.
